CUTE CRITTER CLUB FAQs
Can I submit a photo to you guys even if I'm not the one who
actually took the picture?
No, sorry. You have to be the one who took the photo, i.e. the
person who holds the copyright.
If I submit a photograph to the Cute Critter Club, who keeps the
copyright, me or you?
You do. Cute Critter Club winners will receive full credit for
their photo and keep the copyright. We will just be posting it on our site and
in the emails, with your permission. The same will apply in the case that we
post your picture in our upcoming photo album.
What does Krista look for in a Cute Critter Club photo?
She loves series of photos for this. If you have a series of great photos (or
even just one) and have come up with funny captions, she thinks that's the
best! It doesn't have to be that though, that's just a thought.
The thing about Cute Critter Club photos is that the
background as well as the dog are great looking, see
a sample. This is a different criteria from when you submit
your pet to be considered the star of one of Krista's Retro Pets,
when the background doesn't matter at all. (Although, if the possiblitiy
for a great caption exists, that's more important than a pretty
backgound).
Speaking of photos, what's the best way to get them to you...
digitally?
Digitally is the best if you know how to do it. You're also welcome
to send photos snail mail. We recommend sending copies in that case, b/c we
wouldn't want your precious originals to get lost in the mail. The best thing
to do is to use one of those machines they now have in photo centers and drug
stores for when you don't have the negative and want to make a copy, they come
out great! Of course if you do have the negative then you could just have an
extra print made. Regular color copies wouldn't be good enough quality
probably, because by the time we scanned that it, it would lose too much
detail.
If I send them digitally, what size should they be, and what
format?
We love jpegs. The largest to send us would be around 1 MG. and 3x4
inches. We can resize them to what we need. The final dpi will only be 72 since
that's what looks best on a computer.
